What wins the prize in this design is the volume control. I've got to start looking cool stuff like this.

IMPRESSions; I currently run a "higher-fi" audio setup consisting of Cary Audio SET Monoblocks, GTA SEP-1 Tube Pre-Amp, Grant Fidelity Tube DAC-11, Rega Saturn CDP, Jolida JD-9, Rega RP-6 TT and Zu Audio Omen towers. I have always been partial to tube equipment as I love, love, love the lush midrange that only tube based equipment can produce. The spring/summers here in TX can be brutally hot and when you mix tubes into the equation...it can get a bit uncomfortable. Anyhow I was intrigued by this little 5 watt amp as my speakers are extremely efficient and only need a few watts to sing and the warm weather is upon us and I wanted something that I could run without having to adjust the thermostat to sub arctic temps so as to run my equipment and keep the house comfortable. I received the amp shortly after purchase,it was beautifully constructed and aesthetically pleasing so I set it up and let it run for a few days to bring it to life before doing any serious listening. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this chip based amp, WOW! was I wrong. The amp produced a very believable 3-dimensional sound stage with authoritative and visceral bass that easily kept up with my much more expensive equipment. The higher frequencies were crystal clear and well defined with a perfect amount of sparkle. This amp is extremely satisfying to listen to and a joy to look at! It now has a designated spot on the rack and will be in rotation for the long haul. Thanks for making these wonderful little amps and for making them available at an extremely reasonable price! You are most certainly on to something here.
